I have decided to start cluttering the internet with my ideas. Actually, the main reason I am starting this is to help declutter my mind. Often as I am working I start thinking about problems in our culture and as I think about them I have a desire to share them--hence the blog. Not that anyone will really read it, but that is one of its main functions. This is actually a rather scary blog because it attempts to get inside my mind--it tries to interpret my ideas. As the one or two of you who are reading this you know that that is a frightening thing, for being inside my mind is a daunting proposition.
Anywho, another reason is to clear/enlighten/straighten out my thoughts. Writing always helps me to articulate my thoughts better. It also helps me to work out any kinks in "my" ideas. My is in quotes because "my" ideas are not very original. I will probably try to apply them in new ways to the culture that we live in, however, they are (at least) the same principles that christian thinkers have thought throughout the ages.
My chief goal in this blog is to glorify God. I am first and foremost a Christian. Most if the issues I will wrestle with on here will deal specifically with Christianity. As Christians we need to get our acts together. This blog is a call to action. It helps me to develop my ideas so that I may be effective in the time and place that God has put me.
My biggest influence is the Bible. My three favorite non-biblical authors are: G. K. Chesterton, J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. Four pastors/lecturers that I love to listen to are: Dr. George Grant, Doug Wilson, Todd Friel, and Alistar Begg.
My biggest influences are my father, mother, and various other individuals.
I hope ya'll enjoy reading these posts.
God Bless.
I am sure I am one of those "various other individuals", right?
